Sylacauga City Council to review Gener8tor funding, IT contract changes at May 5 meeting

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, May 5 with a work session beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Faye Hosey Chambers, followed immediately by the regular council meeting.

During the meeting, council members are expected to consider a resolution authorizing an appropriation contract involving the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement and the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce for the Gener8tor program, if the measure is ready for approval. Funding for the initiative has already been included in the city’s fiscal year 2026 budget.

The council is also set to consider a resolution amending a portion of the city’s IT managed services contract with Btech, Inc., specifically related to Microsoft subscription management.

In addition, members are expected to approve a resolution declaring as surplus the duty weapon and badge of retiring officers Looney and Collier, effective the day following their final day of work.

Routine financial matters on the agenda include approval of fiscal year 2026 accounts payable invoices and the April 2026 payrolls.
