SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will hold its regular meeting Tuesday night, March 3, following a work session scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
During the meeting, council members are expected to take up several items of old and new business, including matters tied to the city’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
Under old business, the council will consider approval of resolutions and contracts identified within or related to the FY26 budget. Members are also expected to decide whether to set “Landscape and Horticultural Services” out for bid.
In personnel matters, the council will act on the hiring of Randolph Pankiewicz as building inspector for electrical services at Pay Grade BSB-1, Step 3, citing applicable certifications. If approved, the hire would take effect on his start date.
Under new business, the council is scheduled to review the proposed hiring of Madison Hughes as an accounting clerk at Pay Grade AFA-1, Step 3, based on her bachelor’s degree in accounting. The position would become effective upon her start date if approved.
The council will also take up resolutions ratifying previous approval of contracts with JSU Forensic Services and companies assisting with the Sylacauga Municipal Airport’s drainage grant project.
Additional items on the agenda include a resolution to declare certain vehicles and equipment as surplus, along with FY25 and FY26 accounts payable invoices. Council members are also expected to vote on the February 2026 payrolls.
