The Sylacauga City Council will meet Tuesday night at Sylacauga City Hall.
The council will hold a work session at 5:00 with the meeting following shortly after.
- Historical Commission’s presentation of East Highland marker.
- Resolution 55-2020 appointing election officials for the municipal election on Aug. 25.
- Rescind action taken July 23, 2020, approving a request from Gary Wesson, Teddy Byrd, and Ron Cummings for the use of the city-owned parking lot behind Odie’s Deli and Fermenter’s Market to hold a motorcycle show and stereo sound-off competition on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020. ABC Board is requiring that approval be granted to Donnie and Shelly Bullard, owners of Fermenter’s Market, Inc. at 8 East 2nd Street, Sylacauga, to use the city-owned parking lot to hold the Backstreet Rumble event.
- Appointment to Library Board – four-year term of Becky Hackett expiring Oct. 2024.
- Appointment to Utilities Board – six-year term of Brad Porch expired July 15, 2020.
- Appointment to Airport Board – six-year term of Tommy Dobson expiring Aug. 14, 2020.
- Appointment to Airport Board – six-year term of Jack Mitchell expiring Aug. 14, 2020.
- Action necessary to remove $150 fee required of applicants applying for annexation into the city limits of Sylacauga.
- Request from Street Supt. Reed Calfee to contract with Temp-Force Smart Staffing Solutions for the services of up to three temporary laborers for the Animal Shelter until current vacancies can be filled.
- Accounts Payable received to date for July in the amount of $49,305.66
Approximately 15 minutes after the work session, the council will have its meeting in the council chamber. Here is the proposed agenda:
