SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council held a regularly-scheduled meeting Tuesday night, Oct. 18, at 6:00 p.m.
A work session took place prior to the meeting at 5:00 p.m.
At the meeting, the Sylacauga Beautification Council presented three awards to Charlie Evans, Jr., William “Bill” Roberts, Jr., and Nancy McKay for their persistent efforts to keep Sylacauga clean.
The following agenda items were also addressed at the meeting:
The Sylacauga City Council authorized Addendum #1 to the Transit Agreement with East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission. This addendum establishes transit services for Department of Human Resources (DHR) individuals for work and work-related trips, known as the “JOBS” program.
The city council authorized city attorney Edwin B. Livingston, Jr. to take legal action to redeem city property located on Avondale Ave.
The council appointed Jonathan Douglas and B.J. Childress to the Parks and Recreation Board for five-year terms expiring October 2027.
They accepted the recommendation from Mayor Jim Heigl to approve corrected job description for Administrative Secretary I of Building Services.
The city council authorized a refund of $125 to Pathgroup Labs for overpayment of 2022 business license fees.
The council approved Additional Accounts Payable invoices received for FY22 in the amount of $230,724.94 and Accounts Payable invoices received for October in the amount of $96,358.09.
Additionally, they approved September payrolls in the amount of $628,082.75.
