SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will meet Tuesday night at Sylacauga City Hall.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 with a work session beginning at 5:00.
At the work session the council will discuss:
Old Business:
- Resolution 27-2021 authorizing contract with NextSite to provide commercial development recruitment for the City, at a fee of $35,000.00, payable over three years. (If ready; agreement under review by City Attorney)
- Recommendation from Police Chief Kelley Johnson to reclassify Records Clerk from AO-4 to AO-5. Records Clerk hired 1-4-21 and currently in a probation status; will need to determine effective date of reclassification.
- Recommendation from Police Chief Kelley Johnson to reclassify Animal Control Officer from AO-4 to AO-5.
New Business:
- Action that is necessary to contract with Summit Waterproofing, Inc. to caulk and seal chimney on the City Hall roof at a quoted price of $5,995.00.
- Action that is necessary to seek bids for storm debris grinding and removal. (Debris collected by Street Dept. following Hurricane Zeta; City seeking FEMA assistance)
- Action that is necessary to authorize MOU with Talladega County Commission for K-9 services (If ready; under review by City Attorney)
- Action that is necessary to approve request from Taco Vasquez to set up in City parking lot located behind Fermenter’s Market on the first Tuesday of every month. (If ready; awaiting license, Health Dept. permit, and certificate of insurance)
- Appointment to Board of Education – five-year term of Janean Crawford expires in June.
- Approve travel/training expenses for Council Member Nate Brewer to attend the Alabama League of Municipalities Certified Municipal Official Regional Training in Alabaster, June 17, 2021. Registration fee of $150.00. Additional expenses for mileage and lunch will be incurred.
- Accounts Payable received to date for April in the amount of $654,330.04.
