SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will meet Thursday night at Sylacauga City Hall.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 with a work session beginning at 5:00.

  • Action that is necessary to approve ABC Application from Shelly McLeod Bullard, owner of Fermenters Market Inc. for a 140-Special Events Retail alcohol license for the Sylacauga Young Professionals Shrimp Boil to be held July 17, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the parking lot behind 8 East 2nd Street.
  • Request from Blue Bell Creameries, LP for refund in the amount of $75.00 due to overpayment of 2021 Business License fees.
  • Approve travel/training expenses for PD Chief Kelley Johnson, Captain Rondell Muse, Lt. Renea Cummings, and Lt. Willis Whatley to attend the AACOP Chief’s Summer Conference in Orange Beach August 1-5, 2021. Registration fee of $200.00 each. Additional expenses for lodging (up to conference rate of $881.40 each), meals, and mileage will be incurred. Total estimated expenses are $1,431.40 per employee.
  • Approve travel/training expenses for PD Sgt. Ryan Gaither and Officer William Taylor to attend K9 training in Vincent Alabama for up to fifteen days total between the dates of June 7 and July 16, 2021. Registration fee of $500.00 per employee. Additional expenses for meals and use of a city-provided vehicle will be incurred. Total estimated expenses for Gaither and Taylor are $725.00/each.
  • Accounts Payable received to date for May in the amount of $81,171.97.
