SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga city council will meet tonight at Sylacauga City Hall.

  • Girl Scout troop regarding “helpful hints” group project – Ashton.
  • Ordinance 2225-20 adopting new codes as recommended by Code Department.  Public hearing to be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 6:00 PM
  • Resolution 49-2020 declaring Fire Lt. Ron Machen’s duty badge and fire helmet/shield as surplus and presenting to Machen upon his retirement.
  • Resolution 50-2020 authorizing City Attorney Win Livingston to obtain AG opinion regarding city’s obligation to provide cancer and disability coverage based on Act 2019-361.
  • Resolution 51-2020 authorizing contract with Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. for engineering design fee of $33,000.00 for swimming pool conversion to splash pad.
  • Resolution 52-2020 authorizing contract with Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. for CE&I services for 2018 TAP project.
  • Resolution 53-2020 authorizing contract with Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. for CE&I services for 2019 TAP project.
  • Reschedule following meetings due to election conflicts:
    • July 7 to July 9
    • July 21 to July 23
    • Oct. 6 to Oct. 8
  • Approval of job descriptions, if ready.
  • Amend approval authorized March 3, 2020, for HR Specialist Jayne McGhee to attend BSHRM 2020 Legal Update on April 8, 2020, to a virtual webinar to be held on September 9.  Registration fee of $115.00 was approved March 3, 2020.
  • Approve travel/expenses for Accounting Clerk Sandy Sorensen to attend the AMROA Conference in Birmingham September 2-4, 2020.  Registration fee is $265.00; additional fees for meals and mileage will be incurred.  Required to maintain certification.  Total estimated expenses for Sorensen are $461.63.
  • Accounts Payable received to date for June in the amount of $131,363.25.

The council will hold a work session at 5:00. It will be followed by the council meeting.
