Sylacauga City Council proposed agenda – Feb. 5, 2019

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will meet for the first in February on Tuesday night.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 at Sylacauga City Hall. The following items are on the Agenda:

  • Chief Adam Gardner to introduce and recognize promotion of Firefighter Scott Kines to Lieutenant.
  • Resolution 02-2019 authorizing Change Order #2 for Lathan Associates Architects, PC Project #18-07, Comer Ball Field Lighting and Electrical Upgrade, decreasing construction cost by $30,000.
  • Recommendation from Court Clerk Amber Johns and Municipal Judge Barry Vaughn to purchase replacement computer and hardware for Municipal Court Office from Ricoh in the amount of $2,842, to be paid from the Municipal Judicial Administration Fund.
  • Recommendation from Planning Commission to enter into contract with KPS Group relative to updating the Zoning Ordinance/Map.
  • Approve expenses for Police Chief Kelley Johnson to attend the AACOP Winter Conference and CLEEP Training in Montgomery Feb. 18-21, 2019.  Registration fee is $200.00.  Additional expenses for meals will be incurred, as well as the use of a department vehicle.  Johnson and Muse will carpool.  Estimated total expenses for Johnson are $250.
  • Approve expenses for Police Captain Rondell Muse to attend the AACOP Winter Conference and CLEEP Training in Montgomery Feb. 18-21, 2019.  Registration fee is $200.00.  Additional expenses for meals will be incurred.  Estimated total expenses for Muse are $250.00.
  • Approve expenses for City Clerk Patricia Carden to attend the ACCMA Certification Course Human Resource Management and Staff Effectiveness in Prattville March 7-8, 2019.  Registration fee is $195.00.  Additional expenses for lodging, mileage, and meals will be incurred.  Estimated total expenses for Carden are $421.69.
  • Approve expenses for Administrative Assistant Kim Morris to attend the ACCMA Certification Course Human Resource Management and Staff Effectiveness in Prattville March 7-8, 2019.  Registration fee is $195.  Additional expenses for lodging and meals will be incurred.  Estimated total expenses for Morris are $341.69
  • Approve expenses for Police Chief Kelley Johnson and Council Member Dallas Davenport to attend the funeral of the fallen police officer in Mobile Jan. 25.  Expenses for a meal and fuel for a city vehicle will be incurred.  Estimated expenses for Johnson are $100.
  • Approve expenses for HR Specialist Jayne McGee to attend the ACCMA Certification Program – Human Resource Management and Staff Effectiveness in Prattville March 7-8, 2019.  Registration fee is $195. Additional expenses for mileage and meals will be incurred.  Total estimated expenses for McGee are $351.22.
  • Approve expenses for PD Officer Blake McGhee to attend the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy Emergency Narcotics Operations course in Meridian, Mississippi, Feb. 11-15, 2019.  No registration fee.  Expenses for meals to and from the training, as well as fuel for a City vehicle will be incurred.  Estimated total expenses for McGhee are $100
  • Accounts Payable invoices received to date for January in the amount of $926,146.22.

A work session will precede the council meeting. It starts at 5:00 in the Mayor’s chambers.
