Public hearing set by Resolution 72-2020 10-8-20. Ordinance 2230-20 required. Resolution 90-2020 setting date for public hearing for ADEM air curtain burner permit. (If ready; City Attorney currently working on) Resolution 91-2020 authorizing FY21 General Engineering Services Agreement with Insight Engineering in the amount of $5,000, and authorizing Mayor Heigl to sign related documents. Resolution 92-2020 authorizing Fire Chief Nate Osgood to contract with JMCM Consulting to prepare application for 2021 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) in the amount of $64,900.00 for up to 22 sets of turnout gear. If awarded, grant requires 5% local match ($3,245.00) and 5% grant writers fee ($3,245.00). Application for 050 Retail Beer (Off Premises Only) and 070 Retail Table Wine (Off Premises Only) from Altar Barked Virani and Faros Baradin Samhain, members of CC 2020 LLC, DBA P and B Tobacco located at 1283 Talladega Hwy in Sylacauga. Recommendation from Police Chief Kelley Johnson for educational incentive pay increase (one step per city policy) for PD Lt. Willis Whatley for earning an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University (earned 10/20/20). From PS-4-4 ($27.36/hr.) to PS-4-5 ($28.22/hr.). Whatley will keep PD Investigator incentive.Additional invoices for FY20 Accounts Payable received after year-end close on September 30 in the amount of $3,670.76.Accounts payable received to date for November in the amount of $72,894.60.Approximately 15 minutes after the work session, the council will have its meeting in the council chamber.
