SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will meet tonight at Sylacauga City Hall.
The following items are on the Council’s agenda:
- Public hearing to hear request from Blue Bell to close a portion of a public alley located off West 4th Street. Resolution 17-2019. Quit claim deed conveying property to Blue Bell Creameries.
- Resolution 18-2019 awarding CEI for 2015 TAP Streetscape Project between 3rd & 4th Streets to Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. at the proposed cost of $37,246.
- Ordinance 2210-19 authorizing City to participate in Department of Revenue’s 2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday July 19-21, 2019.
- Recommendation from Mayor Heigl to accept proposal from Tate & Associates for extension of project for three months for additional HR services at an estimated fee of $6,500.
- Recommendation from Police Chief Kelley Johnson to make lighting repairs at the US 280/231 interchange. Total estimated costs of repairs are $69,000. Project to be paid from Bond Proceeds.
- Recommendation from Interim Director of Code Mike Whetstone to upgrade City Hall parking lot lights at an estimated cost of $3,486. Project to be paid from Bond Proceeds.
- Recommendation from Planning Commission to amend contract with KPS to add the optional hourly services for zoning assistance and subdivision regulations update assistance not to exceed $5,000 each.
- Approve travel/expenses for Accounting Clerk Sandy Sorensen to attend the Alabama Association of Public Personnel Administrator’s 2019 Annual Conference and Problem Solving Forum July 24-26, 2019 in Foley Alabama. Registration fee is $250.00 for conference and $150 for forum. Additional expenses for mileage, meals, and lodging will be incurred. Total estimated expenses for Sorensen are $1,384.01.
- Accounts Payable invoices received to date for March in the amount of $182,023.46.
The council meeting will begin at 6:00. A work session will be held at 5:00.
