SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council met on Tuesday night, March 18, following a work session which began at 4:00 p.m.
At the meeting, the city council authorized a two year extension of its waste collection contract and a three percent CPI increase to go into effect on April 1.
The council confirmed the appointing authority of Interim Department Heads.
They requested continued communication from the Civil Service Board regarding employment matters.
The purchase of a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado for the Building Services Department for $29,999 was approved. (Funding provided from Capital Improvements Fund)
The request from Coosa Valley Healthcare to use one Senior Transport Van to transport residents to the East Alabama Senior Day on May 8, held at the Talladega Superspeedway, was approved. (Coosa Valley Healthcare will cover the cost of fares)
Janice Adams and Becky Hackett were reappointed to the B.B. Comer Memorial Library Board to four-years terms ending in October 2028.
Approval was given for Fiscal Year 2025 Accounts Payable invoices totaling $1,704,372.49.
The next Sylacauga City Council meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 1, at 6:00 p.m.
