SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council met on Tuesday night, Dec. 2, following a work session which began at 5:00 p.m.
At the meeting, the city council approved the financial agreement with Coosa Valley Medical Center in the total amount of $2,000,000 and authorized Mayor Dr. Matt Hubbard to sign all related documents on behalf of the City. Laura Barlow Heath, Tim Vincent, and Greer Wright Bisignani voted in favor of the resolution, while council president Tiffany Nix voted against it and Nate Brewer abstained.
New City Clerk Kassey Epperson was made a signatory authority for the City of Sylacauga.
The council approved the funding for a second temporary employee at the Sylacauga Animal Shelter at a pay rate of $3,904.43 per month, using FY26 unused salaries.
Authorization was granted for City transportation vans to participate in the Dec. 4 Christmas Parade outside of contracted hours.
The city council approved FY25 Accounts Payable invoices in the amount of $8,972.10 as well as FY26 Accounts Payable invoices in the amount of $142,622.07.
Additionally, they approved the November 2025 Payroll in the amount of $515,427.42.
The next Sylacauga City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 6:00 p.m.
