SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the resiliency and necessity of small businesses with Sylacauga Small Business Week May 3-7.
Small businesses are the true heartbeat of any community, no matter the size. This past year has been nothing short of a testament to local businesses’ resiliency, strength, and necessity. The pandemic was a wake up call for all to realize how much support small businesses need and deserve. But, small business support isn’t staying in 2020- that’s why the Sylacauga Chamber has created Sylacauga Small Business Week.
Each day there is something special to celebrate and recognize the small businesses in Sylacauga.
Monday, May 3, Chamber Members will receive special “Official Small Business Member” badges to wear all week. Look out for these badges as you shop, eat, and interact with local businesses in town.
Tuesday, May 4, Mayor of Sylacauga Jim Heigl will make a proclamation at the City Council meeting for Sylacauga Small Business Week.
Wednesday, May 5, the Chamber with a small group of individuals will “Cash Mob” a surprise small business.
Thursday, May 6, the Chamber will host a Sylacauga Small Business Celebration to recognize all Chamber Member small businesses with refreshments, door prizes, and networking. The Chamber is providing complimentary headshots for any Chamber Member provided by Stefanie Knight of Sweet Life Photography. Headshots will be available from 9 am until noon at the Sylacauga Chamber.
Throughout the week, the Chamber will have two exclusive Facebook profile frames for anyone to use. The frames will be found on the Sylacauga Chamber Facebook page.
The Chamber is encouraging everyone to do something extra for small businesses during the week to show love and support such as order an additional take out meal, order lunch for your company, buy gift cards from retail merchants, promote local realtors and insurance agents on social media, or leave reviews on your favorite local small businesses.
The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce provides leadership and promotes the economic advancement, business climate, and quality of life for the City of Sylacauga and surrounding areas. Since 1946, the Chamber has aimed to be the voice of business members to make Sylacauga the best place to live, work and play.
