SYLACAUGA, Ala. – It’s that time of year. The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Kids Fishing Derby.
Th derby is scheduled for Saturday, April 17 at Lake Howard from 8-11 a.m.
The event is free to all children ages 12 and under. Awards, snacks, photo opportunities, and family fun will make this a fun day for all.
Community volunteers, Smokey the Bear, and the State of Alabama Game Wardens will be on hand.
Prizes will be given to the children throughout the morning as well as snacks and Hope’s Sno Biz.
Participating with the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, the event’s presenting sponsor is Gaston Construction and the snack sponsors are Affordable Heating and Air and Joe Hudson Collision Center.
Fishing will begin promptly at 8 and end at noon. Children 12 years of age and younger are invited to participate, but must be accompanied by a parent. Loaner rods will be limited, so all participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing poles.
The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce provides leadership and promotes the economic advancement, business climate, and quality of life for the City of Sylacauga and surrounding areas.
