SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber is excited to support the small business community on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 1-5 p.m. with the annual Christmas Open House.
This is a tremendous opportunity for businesses to welcome consumers from near and far into their storefronts to see all the amazing gifts available for purchase here in Sylacauga.
“We believe that there is a gift for everyone at one of our local shops, said Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Laura Strickland. “These retailers have worked hard to secure the best merchandise to fit the needs of consumers this holiday season. They have been busy as elves decorating their windows and interiors to create the perfect setting to get someone in the Christmas shopping mood.”
In an effort to compete with both large and small retailers at home and beyond, local retailers have to begin the Christmas season early.
“We are here to support their efforts in making sure that everyone shops local,” said Strickland.
Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m. there will be live music on the front porch of The Place on Broadway along with other musicians strolling the streets.
“We are told that Santa is making a special trip to Sylacauga on Sunday as well to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to encourage shopping local,” said Strickland.
There will be a drawing at the Open House for $250 in Chamber Bucks sponsored by Pursell Agri Tech. For every $25 spent at one of the participating Chamber Member Retailers, customers will receive one entry into the drawing.
“We will gather the entries Monday morning and draw for the grand prize, ” said Strickland. “The winner will be presented with $250 in Chamber Bucks to use at one of the participating retailers.”
Businesses from around the city are excited about participating in the Christmas Open House.
“We are so excited about Christmas Open House,” said Owner of The Lily, Haydn Hughes. “We have tons of new and unique items, including home decor. We will also have individually wrapped refreshments for customers to enjoy.”
Businesses in Sylacauga have asked that customers adhere to the social distancing guidelines and to please wear a mask while shopping.
