SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 79 years at the Annual Chamber Dinner Thursday, May 3.
The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of the business and industry community of Sylacauga.
“We are excited to host the 79th Annual Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce dinner,” said Executive Director Laura Strickland. “It allows an opportunity for the community to gather and honor our outstanding business and industry, the heartbeat of Sylacauga!”
The evening will be full of entertainment, food and fellowship for everyone in attendance. Entertainment for the night will be provided by Glenn Strange, a comedian and magician who will share his inspiration and talents with Sylacauga.
The Chamber will also be presenting its annual business awards which include The Horizon Award, presented to a chamber member who has been in business in the Sylacauga community for less than five years; The Cornerstone Award, presented to a chamber member who has been in business in the Sylacauga community for more than five years; The Non-Profit of the Year Award; and The Pillar of the Community Award, presented to a person or business in the community who provides integral support to ALL things Sylacauga, making Sylacauga the best place to live, work, and play.
“We had over 20 nominees for the categories, which is a true testament to the quality of business and organizations in the Sylacauga community,” said Strickland. “We are truly blessed, but most importantly are the people that make each of these businesses and organizations special!”
The dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the J. Craig Smith Community Center. It is being catered by Hickory Street Cafe. RadioAlabama’s Michael Brannon will emcee the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce for $35 each. Tables of 8 are available to be reserved.
