SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce hosted a lunch meeting with the city’s incoming leadership today, hoping to demonstrate the Chamber’s commitment to Sylacauga and form a closer alliance, according to an introductory letter from Executive Director Mike Landers who also referred to the Chamber as a city “partner.”
Mayor-elect Jim Heigl and new council members Dallas Davenport, Ashton Fowler, Donnie Blackmon, Tiffany Nix, and Lee Perryman also heard from Dr. Todd Freeman, Superintendent of Sylacauga City Schools; Calvin Miller, Executive Director of the Talladega County Economic Development Authority; Bill Pharr, Chamber President; and Laura Strickland, the Chamber’s Marketing and Membership Director.
“We at the Chamber appreciate the sacrifice that each of you will make over the next weeks, months and years as you endeavor to move forward our beloved city of Sylacauga,” wrote Landers. “And, we want each of you to know that our approximately 400 members of the Chamber are committed, just as you are, to assuring growth, progress and prosperity!”
The newly-elected officials will take office on Nov. 7.
