SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Stuff the Bus Food and Toy Drive has made a difference in the lives of thousands across East-Central Alabama since it began in 2016.
The first two years helped feed thousands of underprivileged children through Alabama Childhood Food Solutions and enabled hundreds of families to put presents under the tree for their children through the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement. The event has been recognized by the Alabama Broadcasters Association as one of the best charitable events in the state.
The Sylacauga High School basketball program has donated to the cause every year since its inception and this year was no different. On Friday, the Sylacauga basketball program dropped by the bus at Tony Serra Ford to help fill it with non-perishable food items and toys for children over the holidays.
“This is an event we like to participate in every year. It is important to give back,” said Sylacauga Varsity Boys Head Coach William Copeland. “We have done this every year and our program is hoping to make a difference this Christmas for those who need it.”
