State of Alabama COVID-19 update

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Things are slowly getting back to normal and COVID-19 is soon to be a thing of the past in Alabama.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 risk indicator, there is a low amount of COVID-19 activity in Talladega County placing it in the ‘green’ category.

Talladega County is currently reporting 8,455 positive COVID-19 cases. Talladega County has reported a total of 184 deaths due to COVID-19.

The state of Alabama alone is currently reporting 548,163 positive COVID-19 cases. Alabama has recorded 11,281 deaths due to COVID-19.

There are currently 50,385 total hospitalizations across the state.

Alabama is no longer under a mask mandate. Masks are encouraged but not required.

While residents across the state of Alabama continue to make strides against the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccination numbers are low compared to other states across the United States. Residents are encouraged to receive the vaccine.
