SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Police Department took a man into custody after he fired his gun at the Pickle Patch Market on Hwy. 280 Thursday afternoon.
SPD Chief Kelley Johnson told SylacaugaNews.com the 51-year-old suspect entered the Pickle Patch Market with alleged psychological problems threatening suicide. The man fired one round inside the business.
SPD arrived on the scene and evacuated Pickle Patch Market along with Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant.
Johnson said investigators and negotiators were able to talk to the suspect and take him into custody without any further incidents.
