SPD investigating Saturday night shootout in Harris Mobile Home Park

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Gun shots rang out on Saturday night in Sylacauga leading to an investigating by the Sylacauga Police Department.

On Saturday night, SPD officers were called to the area of Harris Mobile Home Park located at the 1500 block of Old Birmingham Hwy. Officers were in the area earlier in reference to a domestic dispute. On arrival officers found a Hyundai Elantra that appeared to have been hit by a bullet. According to police the back glass was shattered.

During a search of the area, officers located evidence from where the suspect(s) shot. Because of the evidence recovered, SPD said it appeared the victim’s vehicle was struck unintentionally. SPD believes that two people were involved in a “shoot-out” near that location where multiple rounds were shot. SPD investigations is working the case.
