TALLADEGA CO., Ala. —A small plane made an emergency landing on I-20 in Talladega Co. Saturday.
The FAA said the plane was a Cessna 172 aircraft, and after taking off from the Talladega Municipal Airport, made the emergency landing on I-20 westbound at mile marker 173, at 4:21 p.m.
Two people were on board the plane when it landed.
Corporal Jimmy Harrell of the Alabama State Troopers reported the plane was rolled to the side of the interstate and no lanes were closed at the time.
The plane was towed back to the Talladega Municipal Airport. The two people aboard the plane were a flight instructor and a student. The pilot tells WVTM13 News “something didn’t sound right” and that’s when the plane lost power.
Neither the instructor nor the student was injured.
