TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, Ala. – On July 10, 2018, the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force, Alexander City Police Department, Jackson Gap Police Department, Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department and the ALEA Marijuana Eradication Team, executed arrest and search warrants in the Hackneyville, Jackson Gap and Alexander City areas.
Investigators began the week in the Hackneyville Community, where they located several suspects with outstanding arrest warrants and probation violations. A search warrant was obtained for a residence off Sanford Road. Task Force investigators recovered crystal meth, Lortab and Xanax pills.
In the search, 53-year-old Terry Britton of Hackneyville was arrested and charged with four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
42-year-old Margaret Tapley of Tallassee was arrested and and charged with: four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Probation Revocation and two warrants for Failure to Appear.
Arrested and charged with four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a warrant for Failure to Appear was: Jeffery Price, 54, of Alexander City.
On Wednesday, Task Force investigators teamed up with the ALEA Marijuana Eradication Team and the Alabama National Guard Counterdrug Aviation Unit. During a routine flight, pilots spotted marijuana growing, in the Peckerwood area of Jackson’s Gap. A search warrant for the residence was obtained and investigators recovered approximately 25 mature marijuana plants. These plants have about a $2,000.00 street value.
Arrested and charged with Manufacture and Cultivation of Marijuana 2nd degree, Possession of Marijuana 1st degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was: Samuel Roe, 39, of Jackson’s Gap.
Arrested and charged with Manufacture and Cultivation of Marijuana 2nd degree, Possession of Marijuana 1st degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was: Jennifer Roe, 46, of Jackson’s Gap.
On July 12, 2018, investigators were called to an apartment on Airport Drive in Alexander City. Once on scene, a telephonic search warrant was requested and granted. Investigators recovered approximately 25 grams of crystal meth, 5 grams of marijuana, prescription drugs and several firearms.
Arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession of Prescription Medication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was: Brian Black, 48, of Alexander City.
The investigation of illegal drug possession, distribution and trafficking is ongoing in Tallapoosa Co.
