SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol division reported an incident in Sylacauga involving one vehicle and a train on Wednesday morning.
UPDATE (12:40 p.m.): ALEA reports that the roadway is now open.
UPDATE (10:20 a.m.): According to the Sylacauga Fired Department, no one was injured in the accident.
At approximately 8:28 a.m. a lone vehicle was struck by a train near 700 Gene Stewart Blvd. This road runs behind the Sylacauga Municipal Airport close to the Fastenal fulfillment center.
Due to the accident, all lanes near this location will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
Highway Patrol division troopers are continuing to monitor the situation.
