I’m proud of my guys for playing extremely hard and building some cohesiveness in their game play,” said boys head coach Billy Faircloth. “This game was challenging for the guys in the sense that their “dead legs” became evident several times. That’s due to playing back-to-back nights after being off a week with no practices. Our offense played solid in the first half and then really caught fire in the second half. We had 3 guys each score a goal tonight for the first time, so that’s big for us. We’re trying to find ways to get offensive production from multiple players, and tonight we were able to do that. Our defense was outstanding tonight. Those guys haven’t given up a goal in the last 3 games and are working well together right now.”Tuesday night’s win moves the Aggies to 9-5 on the season and 3-1 in area play, placing the Aggies second place in the area.“We still have a huge month of April ahead of us,” said Faircloth. “We have 5 regular season games remaining with 4 of those being area games. My guys have to really step up to secure a playoff spot to extend this season.”Both Sylacauga varsity girls and boys soccer teams will play a non-area rivalry game at home vs Benjamin Russell on Thursday. The girls kickoff at 5 p.m. followed by the boys at 7 p.m.
