SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga student athlete has committed to continue her athletic and academic career at the University of Missouri.
Morgan O’Neal, a senior at Sylacauga High School, is a track phenom in the area and across the state. So much so she had multiple Division-I offers to run track at the college level. Her abilities landed her offers from the University of Georgia, Western Kentucky University, the University of West Virginia, and beyond.
O’Neal won two Alabama state championship titles for the Aggies last spring as a junior for the 400m and 300m hurdles. During her sophomore year, she won the 400m, 300m hurdles, and 100m hurdles. In the 2017 state championships, she beat her previous time in the 300m hurdles and set a new state record.
On Wednesday, O’Neal will officially sign her National Letter of Intent (NLI) at 9:15 a.m. at Sylacauga High School, but she verbally announced her commitment to the University of Missouri on Tuesday in this YouTube video created by the Sylacauga High School student journalism department.
