SYLACAUGA, Ala.- This past weekend Sylacauga High School show choir, “Signature”, preformed in the Fifth Annual Peach State Invitational in Tifton, GA.
Students in the group have been working really hard to prepare their competition show, “The Magic Inside”, which encourages audience members and performers alike to believe in the power of the magic they have always had inside of themselves.
“Signature” was 1 of the 12 groups represented in the competition. They won “Best Visuals/ Choreography” and placed fourth out of 7 in their division. Other schools represented were Enterprise High School, Prattville High School, Jasper High School, Appling County High School in Georgia, Lakeside Academy in Georgia, and others.
“Around this time last year, we were headed to Decatur, IL to compete in our first national-level competition, but we were unable to go due to COVID-19,” said SHS show choir director, Martez Tidwell. “The students had a blast getting to compete for the first time in over a year. We were able to receive valuable feedback from judges, but the most important thing was that we were able to preform and bond together.”
