SHS Class of 2021 Valedictorian and Salutatorians announced

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga High School has announced that the Class of 2021 Valedictorian is Adalynn Conn. Salutatorians for 2021 are Ella Kate Brooks, Madelyn Friday, and Georgie Grace (GG) Hackett.

Adalynn Conn is the daughter of Pam and Frank Conn and has a younger brother, Luke. She will be attending the University of Alabama with plans to study business. She is receiving the Presidential scholarship, William May Lipsey scholarship, Harry I. Brown and Margaret W. Brown scholarship, PTO and National Honors Society scholarships, Lenette Calvin/S Club scholarship, and Freelancer’s Legacy scholarship. Conn served as senior class president, was voted Miss SHS, and was captain of the varsity Girls Soccer team.

Ella Kate Brooks is the daughter of Ami and Jay Brooks and has a younger sister, Graycn. Her plans are to study political science at the University of Alabama. Along with receiving the Presidential scholarship, Brooks also has received the Boys & Girls State scholarship, Timothy Byrne scholarship, Alabama Municipal Electrical Authority scholarship, Harry I. Brown and Margaret W. Brown scholarship, Kappa Alpha Psi Education Foundation scholarship, Talladega County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta scholarship, Mu Tau Omega scholarship, and Sylacauga Kiwanis Club scholarship.

Madelyn Friday is the daughter of Candice and Brooks Friday, and has two younger siblings, Camilla and Jack. She is the granddaughter of Shelia and the late Arnold Cleghorn, and Dr. William and Sandra Friday. She will be attending Auburn University with plans to study biomedical science and pre-med, with the possible career goal of becoming a pediatrician. Friday is the recipient of the Fearless and True Auburn Merit scholarship, Sellers scholarship, S Club/Dr. Pitchford scholarship, Sylacauga Utilities AMEA scholarship, and Sylacauga Pediatrics scholarship.

Georgia Grace (GG) Hackett is the daughter of Becky and Charles Hackett and has a sister, Catherine. She will be attending the University of Alabama with plans to study civil engineering. In addition to receiving the Presidential scholarship, Hackett also is the recipient of the Alumni Heritage scholarship, Alumni Scholar Award, Engineering scholarship, Harry I. Brown and Margaret W Brown scholarship, and the HOBY and NHS scholarships.

Sylacauga High will hold graduation commencement on Thursday, May 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Legion Stadium.
