SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. – In a Facebook post on Sunday afternoon, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported it received a call earlier that morning about a shooting in Shelby, Alabama.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018, the Shelby County 911 received a call of a person shot at a residence in the 900 block of Paradise Cove Lane, in Shelby, Alabama. Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies responded and located one person who had been shot as well as the person who shot him.
William Pate Walker, a 24 year old from Shelby, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Shelby County Coroner’s Office responded to assist investigators as they pieced together the events that led to the shooting. Jacob Ryan Davenport, a 25 year old from Chelsea, was arrested and has been charged with Murder. He is currently in the Shelby County Jail, and his bond has been set at $75,000.
