TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Interfaith Community and Citizens of Talladega County hosts an annual Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony to honor the lives lost on that tragic day in 2001. The 3rd annual ceremony last week was postponed due to the potential dangerous weather and devastation which Hurricane Irma was rumored to bring to the area.
The 17th anniversary of the tragic events on Sept. 11, 2001 will be honored and remembered on Wednesday, Sept. 20 in Talladega. The service will take place at the flag pole in front of the Talladega County Courthouse in downtown Talladega.
Those who attend will honor those who made sacrifices by giving their own lives and recognizing our own first responders and service men and women for their untiring service to our country and community.”
The service will begin at 12 noon and last until 1 p.m. In the event of rain the event will be moved inside the courthouse on the second floor.
