SYLACAUGA, Ala. – SAFE’s Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company (SDPAC) will showcase a captivating production of Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town,” beginning this Friday, July 14.

Directed by Joseph McDonald and Patrick McDonald, this rendition promises to explore the profound beauty of everyday life.

Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 14-15, and Thursday through Saturday, July 20-22, all starting at 7:00 p.m.

The first two shows will be held at the Dadeville Performing Arts Center, followed by the Childersburg Recreation Center hosting performances on July 20-22.

Cast members include Michael Vick as George Gibbs, Keeghan Messer as Emily Webb, Ryan Alcaino as the enigmatic Stage Manager, Shaylyn Vick as Mrs. Webb, and Allie Etress as Mrs. Gibbs.

Joseph McDonald, one of the directors, says, “The importance of the play does not come from the circumstances in which the characters find themselves, but rather from the realization that the most ordinary, and so-called ‘unimportant,’ parts of life are filled with meaning and importance.”

This powerful message drives the production’s emotional impact.

Tickets for “Our Town” cost $15 and can be purchased in advance at sdpac.net or by calling (256) 245-1669.

The Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company, a program of the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement, offers unique performing arts programs to children of all backgrounds.
