Schools set to dismiss early Thursday afternoon; all after-school activities cancelled

UPDATE: Talladega County Schools will also dismiss students early at 1:00 p.m. today due to the threat of severe weather. All after-school activities have been either postponed or cancelled.

This includes the opening night for the Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company’s (SDPAC) production of “The Wizard of Oz” taking place at the B.B. Comer High School auditorium Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Schools System and announced its schools will dismiss early Thursday due to inclement weather threat moving through the area.

Bus times will be 1:00 p.m. for Indian Valley Elementary School and Nichols-Lawson Middle School 1:20 p.m. for Pinecrest Elementary School and Sylacauga High School.

No word yet on Talladega County Public School System’s plans.
