Schools releasing students at noon today due to threat of inclement weather

TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – Due to the possibility of severe storms pushing through Talladega County Wednesday afternoon, both Sylacauga City Schools and Talladega County Schools are releasing students early.

Students for the two school systems will be let go at 12:00 p.m. today. All after-school activities and sporting events have also been cancelled.

The storm is expected to apex sometime in the area between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Traits of the storm caused by the cold front passing through the state include damaging winds of up to 70 miles per hour, half dollar-sized hail, and the chance of tornadoes.
