TALLADEGA, Ala. – A two-vehicle crash at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, July 14, claimed the life of a Heflin man.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Hunter Dean Hardin, 29, was traveling east on Interstate 20 when the 2002 Harley Davidson he was driving was struck in the rear by a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta.
The collision caused Hardin to fall from the motorcycle, onto the roadway, where he was struck by the Volkswagen. Hardin was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta left the scene, on foot, prior to the troopers arrival and has not been positively identified.
The crash occurred at the 181 mile marker, west of Oxford in Talladega Co., according to ALEA. If anyone has information regarding this crash they are asked to contact the Jacksonville Highway Patrol Post at 256-435-3521.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
