SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Before the start of the Sylacauga-Piedmont football game next Friday night, Oct. 28, the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement (SAFE) will hold its 17th annual Ultimate Ball Drop.
Tickets are now on sale for the Ultimate Ball Drop fundraiser, where up to 3,000 golf balls will fall from a 165-ton crane. The owners of the two balls that either fall in the hole or come closest will then face off in the “Ultimate Putt-Off” at a later date agreed upon by the two winners.
The winner of the “Ultimate Putt-Off” will take home the grand prize of $5,000.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online at www.safefamilyservicescenter.com or by calling SAFE at (256) 245-4343.
For every numbered ticket sold, a golf ball with the corresponding number will be placed in the crane and raised almost 100 feet in the air.
Proceeds support children and families throughout the community by providing food for the after school programs and wrap-around support for needs throughout the region. Additionally, funds from the event support the work of the Sam H. Wright Community Garden and the Mind, Body, and Spirit Pathway located in Sylavon Court.
The Sylacauga vs. Piedmont game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. next Friday night.
