CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – As a fund-raising effort in support of their missions, locally and well beyond, the Childersburg Rescue Squad presents, “Ride to the Rescue” on Saturday, Oct. 12.
It’s a bike ride/race that follows two circuits – 32-mile and 64-mile routes, starting at the B.J. Meeks Sports Complex in Childersburg, but the fun starts the night before with a free concert from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., also at the complex.
Besides the race itself on Saturday, there’ll be a big Car, Truck, Bike Show with BBQ plates for sale from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
BBQ plates will contain barbecue that will melt in your mouth, jalapeno coleslaw with just a mild touch of heat, and a grilled baked potato with toppings provided.
