CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – On March 17, the Kymulga Grist Mill will be hosting a charity ride as a fundraising event for the restoration and preservation of the Grist Mill and Park in Childersburg.
The Restoration Ride will be joining the Alabama Backroads Century Series for the 4th year as a fundraising event for the Kymulga Grist Mill. In the previous three years, the money raised has gone to improvements on the mill grounds, improving the supporting structure of the civil war era grist mill, and improve RV camp areas.

A pre-ride breakfast will be served starting at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 7:15 a.m. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy will all be served. Riders in the 101 mile and 73 mile routes will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the 33 mile and 8 mile riders will leave at 8:10 a.m. After the ride, return to the Grist Mill Park for a lunch of smoked pork shoulder, chicken, deviled eggs, green beans, cole slaw, and banana pudding. Vegan options will also be available.
