SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Resources for Women, located near downtown Sylacauga, is a crucial support center for women and families facing unplanned pregnancies. The organization is in danger of shutting down due to an urgent financial crisis.
The center, which provides essential services to the community, only has enough funds to continue through mid-September. With a monthly operational cost of $6,000, the organization is appealing for immediate financial assistance.
In a call to action, Resources for Women highlights the need for 300 full-time monthly supporters, each contributing $20, to maintain its operations.
The center’s services, which include physical, emotional, and spiritual support, are at risk of being discontinued without this funding.
“How much is the life of one child worth?” asked a spokesperson.
The center also faces the challenge of replacing a broken sonogram machine, a key tool in encouraging life-affirming decisions among expectant mothers.
Resources for Women provides a range of helpful services including grief counseling for past abortions, miscarriages, and infant loss. The center also advocates for premarital sexual abstinence and strives to make abortion unnecessary.
Its mission, grounded in Christian faith, is to extend grace and support to women during difficult times.
Resources for Women is urging the community, including individuals, churches, and corporations, to step up and help sustain this vital ministry. For more information or to make a donation, visit www.resources4women.com or call (256) 208-8888.
