CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Resolute Forest Products in Childersburg had reason to celebrate Thursday.
Resolute is the global leader in the forest products industry with a diverse range of products, including market pulp, tissue, wood products, newsprint and specialty papers. The company owns or operates some 40 manufacturing facilities, as well as power generation assets, in the United States and Canada.
At Resolute, safety is a top priority for all staff, and the business has reached a milestone recently.
Thursday, Resolute hosted a safety luncheon for employees for 500,000 continuous safe work hours. Resolute will host this event four total times to reach all employees on all shifts.
Resolute cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for its employees and awarded them with yeti thermoses.
“At Resolute, we are very aware that being part of a successful organization requires working safely every day,” said plant General Manager Pat Hogg. “We believe there is no job more important than safety. The Coosa Pines Mill has recently achieved a safety milestone, completing over 330 safe days and over 530,000 safe work hours. We are proud of our safety achievement and enjoy celebrating the Mill’s safety success.”
