RadioAlabama family earns multiple honors at 2026 ABBY Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – RadioAlabama is proud to announce multiple award-winning recognitions at this year’s Alabama Broadcasters Association ABBY Awards, highlighting excellence in broadcasting, storytelling, and community impact across East Central Alabama.

The 20th annual ABBY Awards were held at The Club in Birmingham on Saturday, April 11.

Among the honors, Christian Griffin of Wings 94.3 (WAUE-FM) was recognized as Small Market Sportscaster, while The Mark White Show on KiX 96.3 (WFXO-AM/FM) earned top honors in as Best Small Market Public Affairs program. MIX 106.5 (WSGN-HD2) was awarded for its Best Service Project with the impactful Stuff the Studio Food & Toy Drive, further reinforcing the station’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.

In news and talk programming, NewsTalk WANI (WANI-AM/FM) received two awards, including Best Small Market Radio Talk Show for Auburn/Opelika This Morning and Radio and Small Market Breaking News Radio for its coverage of the City of Opelika Municipal Election, showcasing the station’s strength in timely, local journalism. Additionally, Wings 94.3 (WGZZ-FM) earned a Judges Award of Merit Award for Small Market Commercial for its work with the Lee-Russell Council of Governments on the “Read Anything” campaign.

These recognitions reflect RadioAlabama’s continued focus on delivering meaningful, local-first content that informs, entertains, and connects listeners across multiple platforms.
