SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Proline Uniforms, a locally owned retailer specializing in medical scrubs and accessories, will officially close its doors later this month, owner Chelmense Buckner announced last week on social media.
In a heartfelt message shared online, Buckner said the decision followed months of reflection and was influenced by rising costs, a shift toward online shopping, and challenges with the store’s location.
More than anything, she said, it was time for a new chapter.
“I’ve poured everything I had into Proline Uniforms – from sunup to sundown working hard, making sacrifices, and giving my all to help the store succeed,” wrote Buckner.
A storewide clearance sale began Saturday, Aug. 2, with discounts increasing weekly through a final flash sale on Aug. 23 — featuring up to 80 percent off and a table of free items.
Buckner expressed deep gratitude to the customers who supported the business, stating, “Some of you started as customers and became friends, and that means more than I can say. Thank you again for being part of this chapter. I’ll never ever forget it.”
