TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega Ranger District is planning to burn 50 acres today, Oct. 27, 5-to-6 miles southeast of Talladega.
Forest Service Roads 621 and 621C are a portion of this burn boundary and should be traveled with caution. Smoke will be visible from AL 77, Berney Station Rd. and the Waldo and Talladega communities.
The wind is expected to be out of the south and carry the smoke to the north toward the Waldo area. As the temperatures cool later today, the smoke may begin to settle along Talladega Creek in the Waldo and Berney Station Roads areas. Some Settling may also occur around the general area of the burn burn. Signs wills be posted if needed. If encountering smoke on roadways, please slow down, turn on your low-beam headlights and use caution when encountering prescribed burning operations and smoke.
