SYLACAUGA, Ala. – At 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, the Sylacauga Fire Department received a motor vehicle crash call to 19 N. Broadway Ave.
That is the address of downtown’s Dollar General.
According to the EMS alert, a Honda civic crashed into the Dollar General, taking out the entrance of the building and its surroundings. Officers arrived to find a 2003 Honda Accord, grey, that had managed to penetrate the exterior wall of the Dollar General and come to rest partially inside the store. The car was being driven by a 58-year-old, white female. No injuries were reported at the time of the report.

When she started going forward her foot slipped and wedged between the gas pedal and the brake pedal causing her car to accelerate rapidly and crash into the building. At the time of the crash there were several employees of Dollar General standing near to where the vehicle made its entry. As earlier mentioned, there were no injuries reported at the time of the report.
