CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Head Coach Jonathan Beverly will enter his third season as the man in charge of the Childersburg Tigers football program in 2018.
After missing the playoffs in 2016 with a 3-7 record, Beverly rallied the troops in 2017 finishing the regular season with a .500 record, taking his team to the first round of the playoffs.
Although the team lost in the first round to Andalusia, the team improved its record by two wins from 2016 to 2017.
The improvement for the Tigers last season came on the defensive side of the ball. In 2016, Childersburg gave up 44.4 points per-game. In 2017, the defense nearly cut that number in half, giving up 26.27 points per-game.
The offense, however, stayed on the same pace through Beverly’s first two seasons. The Tigers scored 25 points per-game in 2017, a small improvement from 24.9 points per-game in 2016.
