SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Global producer of industrial minerals, Omya, will invest more money into its Sylacauga plant.
The company’s local facility, which mainly produces fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite, is located in the Sylacauga Industrial Park.
Omya’s investment to the local plant is in order to meet the increasing demand to serve the growing polymers and packaging markets it serves.
The investment entails new construction to the plant that will begin this summer. The construction will increase the capacity for dry treated products. The new state-of-the-art process and equipment invested in will be ready for operation early 2019. Omya said the new operation will add an additional three full-time manufacturing positions.

Committed to implementing the principles of sustainability at all company levels, Omya provides added value products and services from responsibly sourced materials to meet the essential needs of current and future generations.
