SYLACAUGA, Ala. – NLMS Football team earned the county championship title with a stellar season.
Congratulations to the Nichols-Lawson Middle School football team for an outstanding season. The NLMS Aggies recently received their championship trophy in a school assembly program. They finished the season undefeated with a 7-0 record and were county champions for the first time in school history. At the end of the season, the Aggies had outscored their opponents 212-60.
The team, which consisted of 47 student athletes and three managers, stands as a great example of commitment and hard work. Head Coach Chad Wilkinson commented that these were keys to the team’s success. “We are so proud of the players and coaches for buying into what it takes to be successful,” stated Wilkinson. “Our practices were demanding, fast-paced, and filled with enthusiasm.”
Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Director Matt Griffith shared his compliments saying, “We are very proud of the hard work and dedication these young men put in this year. Congratulations to them, our cheerleaders, coaching staff, and the administration at Nichols-Lawson.”
In the coming years, these same athletes will play on the Sylacauga High School team and continue the long and proud tradition of Aggie football.
