SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Harbor Freight officially opened its newest retail location in Sylacauga on Tuesday, Feb. 24, bringing a wide selection of tools and equipment and dozens of new jobs to the community.
Located at 1391 W. Fort Williams St., the approximately 15,000-square-foot store offers a full range of tools and accessories, including automotive tools, air and power tools, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment, outdoor power equipment, and hand tools.
The store carries Harbor Freight’s lineup of exclusive brands, including Icon professional hand tools, Hercules and Bauer power tools, U.S. General storage systems, and Predator generators.
“We know how important it is for our customers to get the tools they need, when they need them – which is why we’re opening closer to where people live and work,” store manager David Evans said.
Company officials said the Sylacauga store created about 25 to 30 jobs, adding to the retailer’s more than 450 associates across Alabama.
Founded in 1977 as a Southern California mail-order business, Harbor Freight has grown into one of the nation’s fastest-growing retailers, serving more than 75 million customers through more than 1,600 stores nationwide. The company currently operates 33 locations in Alabama.
