SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A new gathering space located on Norton Ave. in Sylacauga celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning.
The Corner Spot is a new location tailored for parties of all kinds. The event space is using the building where the Sylacauga Karate School was before moving back to J. Craig Smith Community Center.
“We are so happy to have The Corner Spot on Norton [Ave.],” said Executive Director of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, Laura Strickland. “We love to see Norton continue to grow. I don’t know if I’ve driven by one night and not seen activity happening in here.”
To rent The Corner Spot for a party or shower, it costs $300 for four hours. For each additional hour after that, it costs an extra $50.
For professional meetings and company events, there is a static rate of $75 per hour.
Owners Jessica and Justin Morris originally wanted a find a place for their daughter, Emma, to host her birthday party. Now, the Morris family can have her party as well as many others at The Corner Spot.
“It’s very special to me and my family,” said Jessica Morris on the grand opening. “We’ve worked very hard for this, and we’re excited to see what’s to come of it.”
