SYLACAUGA, Ala. – If you have been searching for a spot to host a bridal shower or football party, you are in luck.

The Place on Broadway is a new event center located at 112 N. Broadway Ave. in downtown Sylacauga, right in the heart of the city. The building was most recently A.J.’s International Cuisine, which closed down in March, but more people may know it as the old Marble City Grill building.

According to the owner of The Place on Broadway, Kimm Wright, this will be an event center with a focus on choosing your own options.

“This will basically be a user-friendly event center because the customer can choose whatever vendor they would like to use such as catering and photography,” said Wright.

“I am over the moon,” exclaimed Wright. “This is something I have wanted for a very long time, and I have waited for the opportunity and the right place. That is kind of how we came up with the name.”

Wright also serves on the Sylacauga Chamber Board of Directors, and she emphasized the importance of small businesses in the city.

“One of the things I take very seriously is our community and small businesses, and I think it is so important because this is a chance to help develop our other small businesses as well,” said Wright. “This is truly a “win-win” situation for all of us.”

According to Wright, the doors are not open yet because of COVID-19, but hopefully will be by July 1.
