SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On Thursday, Nov. 17, auto parts manufacturer Nemak celebrated its latest expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Nemak’s expansion will go towards benefiting its electric vehicle production line with a new Machining and Assembly building. The $2.1 million investment added 35,000-square feet to help accommodate machinery.
Due to this, more than 150 jobs have been created for the plant site which now supports the need for over 1,000 workers.
Since the beginning of 2021, Nemak has expanded from 610 employees to around 875 in September before the latest expansion increased that figure even more.
“We’re hiring so that we can be properly staffed for our new programs. As we grow, we need folks that can maintain our equipment, repair it, and adjust it,” explained HR Operations Leader at Nemak, John Parrish.
Nemak’s Sylacauga facilities currently feature the production of e-mobility, vehicle structure, and internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrain components for three North American and two European automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
Nemak, a tier one automotive supplier, is continuing to hire employees with all levels of education and experience.
